Building Wrap
The building wrap, or air/moisture barrier, is essential for keeping unwanted air and water out while letting water vapour escape. Installing a building wrap is one of the most effective ways to improve energy efficiency and overall building performance significantly.
The building envelope system implemented by PGG Exteriors works in four vital areas:
• Controls air leakage and helps achieve the required ACH (air changes per hour)

Cladding

Rainscreen System
An essential building component in our humid West Coast environment, a rainscreen is an exterior wall system where the siding stands off from the moisture-resistant surface of an air barrier applied to the sheathing. It provides a capillary break to permit drainage of moisture that penetrates past the cladding and allows ventilation through the cavity to further promote drying. Two types of wall systems utilize the rainscreen principle: drained/back-ventilated (DB/V) and pressure-equalized (PE).
Exterior Insulation
The proper exterior insulation, installed correctly, can significantly reduce the risk of condensation and humidity within your building, increase the energy efficiency of your heating systems, and retain heat instead while combatting unwanted moisture.
